A lovely 2 bedroom house in Dunfermline, Scotland's ancient capital home swap

My attractive Edwardian house is situated on a quite residential street. It has been recently renovated and has a new kitchen - washing machine, dishwasher, combination microwave and a gas hob. The view from the kitchen is beautiful and you can see the Forth Rail Bridge and the Pentland Hills. In addition there are two double bedrooms, lounge (with new king-size sofabed), dining room and a bathroom with a shower.

There is Sky TV, Wii console and children's games. The back garden is fully enclosed and is child friendly.

About the location

The town has some lovely restaurants and excellent train and bus links. Edinburgh is only 35 minutes away and the bus and train station are minutes from the house.

Dunfermline Abbey is the last resting place of many Scottish Kings and Queens. Well known for its resident peacocks, Pittencrief Park has formal gardens, Pittencrief House Museum and great walks. The closest swimming pool is the Carnegie Leisure Centre and Fife Park has bowling, a cinema and places to eat. Situated at the heart of Dunfermline is the Carnegie and Alhambra theatres. Dunfermline Museum and Art Gallery is due to open in 2016. The Firestation Creative has a lovely cafe and gallery is also very popular.

Fife is famous for its golf and beaches and is a beautiful part of Scotland with many charming small villages nearby. Limekilns and the Royal Burgh of Culross villages are 10 minutes away by car, where you can explore the Fife Coastal Path. Explore the beautiful refurbished Palace (1597) and gardens in Culross. The Greengate Gallery, Culross pottery and cafe and the Red Lion Inn are all worth a visit.

Loch Leven is a 15 minute drive away where there is a 12-mile, circular traffic-free heritage path linking Kinross with RSPB Loch Leven nature reserve.

The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena is 30 mins drive near Ratho.

The East Neuk of Fife and St Andrew's are both 1 hour away. From Anstruther there are regular day trips to the Isle of May Bird Observatory. The Highlands are 2 hours away and have skiing, hillwalking and stunning scenery.
