Newly renovated stone cottage in peaceful setting among vineyards in SW France home swap

The cottage was completely renovated last year, and is independent from our main house. It has a large open plan lounge and dining area with exposed stonework and oak beams, and a modern fitted kitchen. Upstairs is a large bedroom with double divan bed, which benefits from uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside. There is also a modern ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower.

Outside is an extensive garden for relaxing in the sunshine and eating al fresco. Guests are also very welcome to use our 12 x 6 metre salt water system pool.

About the location

We live in the 'Golden Triangle' between Gaillac, Albi and Cordes-sur-Ciel in the Tarn region of south-west France. Gaillac has been a centre for wine-making since Roman times, and our property is situated among the vineyards on the Cordes plateau. Our nearest village boasts a bank, restaurant, small supermarket, baker, butcher and delicatessen, and bustling weekly markets can be found in Gaillac, Cordes-sur-Ciel and St Antonin Noble-Val. Albi, the departmental capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is famous for its towering cathedral and as the birthplace of Toulouse Lautrec. Views from the nearby bastide towns of Castelnau de Montmirail, Puycelsi and Cordes-sur-Ciel are breathtaking, and the rolling countryside is perfect for walkers. Sporting activities in the area include cycling, tennis, golf, horse-riding and canoeing.
