Family home in village near Edinburgh

Our house is 200 years old and was originally built as an office for the paper mill at the end of our street.

It is now a comfortable family home with four bedrooms, two doubles and two kids rooms with single beds. It has a kids playroom with wood burner, adult sitting room and dining kitchen as well as three bathrooms (one en-suite). There is also a large study for which we have an airbed if you want to bring extra people!

We are currently decorating and renovating our home so although it is comfortable the décor is not high end! Our home is ideally suited for a family who want somewhere comfortable and laid back to stay.

We have a large garden with kids climbing frame and swing.

About the location

Our 200 year old house was situated in the quiet village of Lasswade, 5 miles from Edinburgh city centre. Access to Edinburgh is easy by regular buses (30 mins) or by car (15 mins). Our beautiful and historic village is quiet and friendly with a family friendly pub, restaurant and play park. The nearest supermarket is 5 mins drive away.

There is lots to do in Edinburgh with any number of museums, galleries and historic monuments to visit. There are also lots of things to do in Midlothian - nearer to the house such as soft play, mining museum, country parks and horseriding. During the month of August the Edinburgh festival will be taking place.
