Villa Pamukkale

Villa Pamukkale was designed, built and furnished to the owners’ specification as their own holiday home and completed in 2012. It is located in the exclusive Monte de los Almendros area of Salobreña. The accommodation is over three floors with air conditioning/underfloor heating throughout. The villa is strictly for non-smokers and is available all year round, but no pets and no children under the age of 12. A cot is available for babies before they can walk or crawl.

The main living area is on the ground floor, an open plan lounge/dining area with multiple patio doors leading directly out to the main terrace and swimming pool (8m by 4m). The lounge has arm-chairs and sofas, satellite TV, radio, DVD/CD player with IPOD connection and wireless internet. The fully equipped kitchen is also on this level, located towards the back of the villa but with easy access to the dining area and terrace for meals outside. The kitchen has double ovens with grills, induction hob, dishwasher & “American” fridge freezer with water/ice dispenser, a microwave, toaster and kettle. There is a double sink and plenty of working areas including peninsular unit and seating.
From the ground floor, stairs lead up to the master bedroom suite with king size double bed, private terrace, dressing room and en-suite bathroom. Stairs also lead down to three further bedrooms on the lower level. One room has a king size double, the other two have two single beds, all with en-suite facilities and dressing areas, with outside access and a further terrace overlooking the sea. The utility room is situated on the lower level and has a sink and worktop, and houses the washing machine and tumble drier. There is an iron and ironing board, clothes dryer and laundry basket.

Outside, the grounds are fully enclosed and private with off-street parking and a garage. The villa is situated on a rocky outcrop overlooking Salobreña and the sea. The main terrace surrounds the villa giving access to the pool, 8m x 4m, with a depth between 1m and 2m (approximately): the views from here are astounding. Separate sitting areas offer shade at different times of day depending on the season. A large dining table seats up to eight and smaller outside tables are provided for use on the upper and lower terraces. There are sun-loungers, a sofa and arm-chairs. Guests have use of a gas barbecue and table-tennis table. The infinity edge swimming pool overlooks the sea and can be heated in winter (an extra charge applies). On the garden side of the house is a small enclosed terrace with washing line with easy access via a side door into the kitchen, and further sheltered seating areas in the garden.

About the location

The local town of Salobreña is just a few minutes away by car and has a good selection of supermarkets, bars and restaurants, as well as banks and pharmacies. The Moorish castle is well worth a visit. The small fishing village of La Caleta is 5 minutes’ drive and has bars and a bakery for delicious fresh bread in the mornings.

Salobreña is located on the Costa Tropical de Granada, in a typically Spanish but unspoilt area of southern Spain with a semi-tropical climate, and with a wide choice of tapas bars and excellent local restaurants all within easy reach. Further inland are the Sierra Nevada mountains with skiing and snow-boarding in the winter, and hiking during the warmer months. Other activities are tennis, golf, horse riding, scuba diving, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking, and walking/bird watching in the Lecrin valley and the nearby Alpujarras. Motril has a marina and Marina del Este a 25 minute drive also has yachts for charter.

Almuñecar is around 20 minutes away, with many shops and restaurants and a beach-side water park open June to September. The larger town of Motril is about a 15 minute drive to the east and has a hypermarket and a wider range of shopping. The provincial capital Granada is just 50 minutes away with the Alhambra, one of Spain's most popular tourist attractions (advance booking is essential). The Nerja caves are within 30 minutes’ drive towards Malaga.

The main beaches in and near Salobreña are just a 10 minute drive away. Nearby are many bars and restaurants including beach-side “chiringuitos”. Other beaches are found in the nearby towns of Motril, Almuñecar and La Herradura, and further along the coast.

The 18-hole Los Moriscos Golf Club at Playa Granada, Motril, is just 15 minutes away and there are other golf courses within an hours’ drive near Granada and Malaga.

Skiing in the Sierra Nevada is around one hour from the villa. The season runs from December until the end of April.
