Family Friendly Home In Beautiful Vancouver

Our detached home is in the lovely community of Coquitlam, an easy twenty-five minute drive from the very centre of Vancouver. It's located on family-friendly no-through street with several other families with young children.

The house is not new, but has been renovated and updated with a contemporary style. There are four bedrooms: the master bedroom has a brand new queen bed; two bedrooms each have a single/twin bed; and one room is designated as an office (with an available air mattress if necessary). In addition to a kitchen, dining room, and living room, there is a carpeted loft-style playroom with some toys and a beautiful upright piano. The home has hardwood and tile throughout, with carpet only in the loft/playroom and the office. The living room features a wood-burning fireplace and the dining room has sliding glass doors out to the private back deck.

The back yard is private, secure, and features a vegetable garden, a large grassy area with play equipment for children, a large back deck with patio table, and large secure and powered workshop/storage for bicycles and sports equipment.

Available for your use are a computer and wireless Internet, children's toys and books, and laundry room with front-load washer and dryer. The kitchen is equipped with ceramic top stove/oven, full-size fridge, dishwasher, and microwave.

We share our home with an enthusiastic dog (who will not be part of the exchange) and a friendly cat who is familiar and friendly with respectful and gentle children. We'd be grateful for guests to care for our cat and a few houseplants.

Our home is strictly non-smoking. It's best suited for a family with one or two children, but would be comfortable for a couple travelling without children also. We try to keep our 'kid spaces' clearly defined, and the primary living spaces of the home tend to be adult-oriented.

Nearby activities include golf, skiing and snowboarding, sailing, mountain biking, hiking, hockey, parks, playgrounds, swimming pools (indoor and out), community centres, shopping, attractions, walking paths, beaches, lakes, and camping. Vancouver and its nearby area is famous for its spectacular scenery, mild climate, and wealth of attractions and activities.
Groceries and other amenities are an easy two block walk from our house, and public transit is one minute walk from the front door. A brand new Skytrain (train) will be opening 2 blocks from our home in summer 2016! We're within a few minutes' drive of highway access, several shopping centres, restaurants, and other services.
Our community is very family-friendly, with many parks, bike paths, shopping areas, community centres, and other amenities.
