Reeth is a major stopping off point on the coast to coast walk, which goes from the Lakes to Robins Hoods Bay. Set in beautiful Swaledale and rugged Arkengarthdale, Reeth is a walkers paradise. We have many beautiful walks from Reeth to surrounding peaks and villages. If you don’t want to cook there are great tearooms and pubs in Reeth. Within half an hour driving are Hawes, home to the Wensleydale cheese factory; Askrigg, one of the main the filming locations for TV hit programme All Creatures Great and Small; Richmond with its imposing castle, shops and community Station cinema; other nearby castles include Barnard Castle, Middleham allegedly Richard 3rd childhood home; abbeys abound such as Easby, Gisborough, Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, Whitby; the Harry Potter viaduct at Ribblehead. Major cities and towns within easy driving distance include York, Harrogate (both have the famous Betty’s tearooms, as does Northallerton), Ripon, Newcastle, Whitby. Multiplex cinema, supermarkets, swimming complex 20 minutes drive to Catterick Garrison; Richmond also has a swimming pool.
