Enchanting house in lovely Muswell Hill - London home swap
Three bedroom terraced house in a cul-de-sac. There is a small garden and outside eating area. Modern kitchen and period style bathroom. One bedroom has a bunk bed and a trundle bed. Main bedroom has a double bed and a further bedroom with a comfortable double bed sofa. Separate lounge room or open plan between the dining room. There is a bus to the shops or station just at the end of the road although it is very easy to walk to the shops. The shops are substantial including a cinema, restaurants and supermarkets including Waitrose, Sainsbury's and a M & S food store.
About the location
Muswell Hill is a lovely part of North London, close to Highgate, Hampstead and Crouch End. The tube is a 20 min walk or a bus ride away, buses are frequent about every 5-10 min. There are two woods within walking distance, lovely play ground areas and lots of walking options. Many lovely cafe's and eating areas including a cinema, book shop, toy shop and lots of little interesting shops.
London is a bus (7 min walk) to Highgate station then the northern line to Tottenham court road it's 45 min. However there is a lot to do around here. The girl next door does indoor rock climbing on a Monday night close by.
There is a number of swimming pools both indoor (Crouch end) and outdoor in Hampstead Heath, either a bike ride or bus ride away. The Heath is one of the most famous in London, it's is absolutely huge, there are running tracks, football field there or others are a closer walk from us. The girls also play tennis so there are a number of courts close to us too.
Alexandra Palace park is also a short walk, it's a large park with paddle boats on a pond and deer as well. There is a great bike ride mostly off the roads which is called Parkland way, it runs behind the shops through to Highgate then a quick bit on the footpath and then this continues to another large park called Finsbury Park or even further again to Clissold Park.
We have scooters and a number of bikes depending on ages and sizes of children.
You could manage easily without a car by walking, cycling and public transport although if you did want to hire a car there are a number I use which are a bus ride away.
Priory Park is towards Crouch end and is a lovely area as well with many restaurants, cafe's and independent shops.
Islington is very nice as well and is available to go by bus in about 20 min or so from Colney Hatch Lane on bus 43.
There have been a number of fabulous 'scavenger hunt' tracks created by various organisations that have popped up around London which are a great way to see interesting parts of London. The last three we have visited were Book about town, Paddington Bear and painted bus models. You get a map and walk around ticking them off. I'm sure there will be another one in the Summer as they have proven to be very popular.
Cockfosters has a lovely big park that also has a rope course, it is at the end of the Piccadilly line which you can reach by a bus down Alexandra Park road.
Camden town is either a bus or train trip away which has a large market and canal boat trips to go on, you can also visit Regents Park and the zoo. There is another pool at Swiss Cottage or Archway.
If you need any further information just ket me know or have further questions I'm more than happy to answer.
