About the location

Alexandra Palace/Muswell Hill is a lovely part of North London, close to Crouch End, Wood Green and Highgate.

Alexandra Palace station is a 8 min walk away and gets you into Moorgate in about 25 min although it is easy to also change to the Victoria line or Piccadilly at Finsbury Park as well. The Piccadilly line (Bounds Green) is a 15 min walk and takes you into central London in about 20 min as well.

We are a 5 min walk to the huge park of Alexandra Palace which has a playground, lake with pedal craft and a cafe. It is also possible to go ice skating and there are two Go Ape high wire courses suitable for the under and over 10`s. On Sundays there is a Farmer`s market just a 10 min walk into the AP park.

Wood Green has a shopping centre and a Vue cinema.

Muswell Hill has a lovely village feel with a few supermarkets, independent cafes and many restaurants including Spanish, Mexican, Greek, Italian and two steak ones. The Everyman cinema is a great venue where you can order food and drinks at your comfy lounge chairs while watching the film.

There is a number of swimming pools both indoor (Crouch end) and outdoor in Hampstead Heath, either a bike ride or bus ride away. The Heath is one of the most famous in London, it`s is absolutely huge, there are running tracks, football fields, Kenwood House and other activities.

There is a great bike ride mostly off the roads which is called Parkland way, it runs behind the MH shops through to Highgate then a quick bit on the footpath and then this continues to another large park called Finsbury Park or even further again to Clissold Park.

We have scooters and a number of bikes depending on ages and sizes of children.

You could manage easily without a car by walking, cycling and public transport although if you did want to hire a car there are a number I use which are a bus ride away.

Priory Park is towards Crouch end and is a lovely area as well with many restaurants, cafe`s and independent shops.

Islington is very nice as well and is available to go by bus in about 20 min or so from Colney Hatch Lane on bus 43.

There have been a number of fabulous `scavenger hunt` tracks created by various organisations that have popped up around London which are a great way to see interesting parts of London. The last three we have visited were Book about town, Paddington Bear and painted bus models. You get a map and walk around ticking them off. I`m sure there will be another one in the Summer as they have proven to be very popular.

Cockfosters has a lovely big park that also has a rope course, it is at the end of the Piccadilly line which you can reach by a bus down Alexandra Park road.

Camden town is either a bus or train trip away which has a large market and canal boat trips to go on, you can also visit Regents Park and the zoo. There is another pool at Swiss Cottage or Archway.

If you need any further information just let me know or have further questions I`m more than happy to answer.
