18th Century Manor House in Yorkshire Coast Village home swap

Walmsley House is a wonderful old house built in the 18th century for members of the local landowning family to manage their estates. It retains a higgledy piggledy character but has been thoroughly modernised and redecorated with a mixture of antique and new furniture and a contemporary kitchen.

It's perfect for two or three families sharing together, or a group of friends. It's pefect for 8-12 people, with three very different reception rooms and a large south-facing garden. The coast is just a mile away, with the huge diversity of the Flamborough Head cliffs, the Yorkshire seaside towns and isolated beaches all just a few minutes away.

Bempton is world famous for its huge seabird sanctuary, which makes this a wonderful location for anyone even slightly interested in birds.

About the location

The Yorkshire coast has a bit of everything: awesome cliffs, beautiful beaches, historic seaside towns like Whitby and Filey, or more child-friendly towns Like Scarborough and Bridlington. The North York Moors are within striking distance, as are York and Hull, both of which are worth a day trip: York speaks for itself, but The Deep in Hull is brilliant.

But of course this is a place for walks on the cliffs and days on the beach.
