Family home: close to Bath

Our home is set on the hill, in the pretty village of Bathford, about 15 minutes from Bath city centre. We have the best of both worlds, with lovely countryside views from the windows but proximity to the town centre, either by car or public transport. We are also lucky enough to have a big garden and a tennis court. The kitchen is the biggest room in the house, and there is an aga that keeps it warm and cosy and is ready for cooking at any time. We are due to do some renovations to improve the layout of the house, but at present there is a potentially tricky spiral staircase which leads from the kitchen into the downstairs double bedroom which we hope to change. There is one other small stair case which leads to an upstairs single bedroom suite.
Well behaved dogs welcome, but not on the sofas or beds. We might be looking for help feeding our leopard gecko and 2 guinea pigs, who are very low maintenance!

About the location

Bath and the surrounding countryside surrounding has something for everyone. The Georgian city of Bath is full of cultural hot spots such as the Roman Baths, the Royal Crescent, the Theatre Royal, as well as numerous museums, galleries, cafes, restaurants and shops. Bathford village is a short car ride to the ancient town of Bradford-on-Avon which also has many sites of historic interest, including the Tithe Barn, the canal and plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. There are great walks from the door, with lots of Avon wildlife trails in the woods behind, that also feature the famous viewing point, Browns Folly, from which you can see the whole of Bath. It is perfect for dog walking too! Bathford has several pubs, including The Crown, which is walking distance from the house and has great food. There is also the community shop and cafe, Bathford Village Shop, 5 minutes walk from the house.
