Bath is full of independent shops and restaurants, much of the city is unchanged since Jane Austin's time, plus the stunning remains of the Roman Baths and the only natural hot springs available to use in the UK.
One hour's drive from Stonehenge. 1,1/2 hours by direct train to London and 1,1/2 drive to historic Oxford.
