Greek Revival 1835 house
Charming, Greek Revival house, mid 1800's- completely renovated in 2012. Fabulous location, in the Lower Garden District-very near central New Orleans, and a short bike ride from the Arts District and the French Quarter. The house is just a few blocks from the famous Magazine st, with miles of interesting cafes, galleries, antique shops, boutiques etc. A few blocks farther is St. Charles where the picturesque streetcar runs both uptown and downtown.
It has 1600 sq. ft. From the front porch, one enters into a large salon, and dining area, open to the kitchen, with french doors leading onto the wrap around porch, deck and back garden. All the rooms have french doors leading to porches, (galleries) and a small, walled, tropical garden. There are 13 foot ceilings, crown molding, overhead fans (central air & heat) 3 capped off fire places, wide pine floor, and an eclectic art collection. There are two large bedrooms with marble/slate en suite bathrooms. and another smaller one with a small sofa that converts to a single bed. I use it as a library/weaving room.
The house is completely foam insulated, has solar panels, on demand hot water, a whole house water filter and anything green I could add when I renovated. And of course all mod cons, including cox cable and a smart TV with internet access, Netflix. for movies Wi-Fi, stackable washer/dryer, D/W, etc. The tropical garden has a fountain and an automatic sprinkler system. I have one old, funky bike as well.

About the location
The Lower Garden District/ Irish Channel is one of the oldest , historic neighborhoods in New Orleans. It runs along the river, uptown from the French Quarter. Magazine St. is renown as the longest and most unique shopping st. in the US. It has miles of galleries, boutiques, restaurants etc. St Charles is lined with antebellum mansions and has a streetcar that goes to the French Quarter, or in the other direction the beautiful Audubon Park and zoo.
