Sun, sea surf home swap
Our home is an old red brick Federation built in 1920's but has been fully modernised inside.
It is 2 storey but for a couple ground level living is totally ok as it only our master bed room, walk thru wardrobe and ensuite in the attic space.
Ground level has 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a study/office, kitchen, formal lounge room, family dining area, back entry/library, laundry and a fully covered patio with BBQ under roof - we dine outside almost all year as we have installed a fan in the ceiling for warm weather to make it pleasant outside.
The office has a double sofa bed if necessary but many flashing lights from computers and printer, fax etc.

About the location
We are in the beautiful beach suburb of Merewether which is within walking distance to supermarket, beaches and cafes. It is a patrolled beach with life-savers on duty - also there is a huge ocean water sea bath/pool that is emptied and cleaned each Friday and crystal clear for safe swimming.
In walking distance are shops, cafe, restaurants. Just 1 street down from us is a small supermarket, fresh fruit and vegetables shop, bottle shop, cafe and Post Office.
Eat Streets are at The Junction, Darby Street in Cooks Hill, Beaumont Street in Hamilton, and the Newcastle CDB area has many cafes.
Next door is a lawn bowls club offering evening meal. Also another very nice club just 1 block away that welcomes newcomers. They have a raffle 3 times a week - you can win meat packs, boxes of vegetable, or wine -30 prizes each night and winners take what they want. It also has a restaurant, sports bar and gambling facilities.
Within 1 hour drive you have either the Hunter Vally wineries in the north west and Port Stephens bay north east - popular fishing and holiday area.
We are just 3 hours north of Sydney by train and they go every hour.
Newcastle has a regional airport at Williamtown and you may be lucky enough to get a cheap flight to the Gold Coast if you book early enough with Jetstar. Virgin also has local cheaper flights.
Newcastle was a convict settlement and some evidence of that can still be seen.
Come on downunder and have a holiday - you will not be able to see all Australia as it is a huge continent but come and see us.
