Attractive Georgian style modern house situated in an elevated position with beautiful country views in a lovely development in Modbury, South Hams, Devon. We are just off the main roads in Modbury, so whilst its quiet here and parking is not a problem, you are within walking distance of pubs, shops and restaurants. Overlooking the red chestnut tree, our house offers a village green type environment whilst enjoying the amenities of the twenty-first century- good WiFi, flatscreen TVs and a newly installed kitchen/diner. At night you can hear the owls! The house is decorated with artwork from local artists.

This small country town, which itself is an historic conservation area, traced back to the days of the Saxons, nestles in rolling hills in the beautiful South Hams countryside.

Approximately 4 miles from the nearest beach,Bigbury, well known for iconic Burgh Island Hotel with its history of Agatha Christie and the Poirot films, as well as it`s surfing and scenic surroundings, where there are coastal walks, cliff tops and sea views. Dartmoor National Park is a few miles to the north, with it`s wild ponies and magnificent rugged landscape. The area is particularly attractive to those seeking outdoor pursuits, including surfing, golfing, walking. Lovely golf course at Bigbury on sea, a ten minute drive away. In addition, the attractive towns of Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Totnes are nearby, and for those who want more urban facilities, Plymouth(11 miles) and Exeter ( 35 miles), both cathedral cities, provide a comprehensive array of shops, theatres and areas of historic interest. The village of Modbury itself boasts an array of individual shops, a gastro pub, a bistro/wine bar and other pubs serving food as well as a couple of very good tempting cafes and an art gallery. All within 5minutes walk from the house.There is a regular public bus service into Plymouth or in the other direction to Dartmouth.
