Our detatched charming rural cottage is set in an idyllic elevated location with 360 degree views across the open countryside,were the sky is clear and the stars twinkle on a clear evening. We are surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, see the swallows swooping around the cottage in the summertime, and the deer that roam free.
Close by there are many activities available such as fishing, cycling, walking and birdwatching and the renowned Kielder waters and forest is only a short drive away and the formidable Hermitage Castle which is steeped in historic tales of skulduggery and witchcraft within walking distance. There is an outward bounds centre in the village.
The friendly village of Newcastleton is 3 miles away, where there are local shops and cafes and traditional inns and Heritage Centre, Bank, Mini Mart and Bakery and Butchers and Post Office and 7 stanes Mountain Bike Trails.

Newcastleton locally known as Copshaw Holm is an 18 Century planned village steeped in history.
All the historic Scottish Border towns are close by.Come and see the traditional historic Riding of the Marches which takes place across all the Border towns during the summer time which is a site to behold, all the horses galloping through the towns, to the cheers and celebrations of the locals with all the pipe bands following the procession.
Newcastleton Craft Fair takes place on the 1st weekend in June and runs for a week where there are local crafts from all over the Borders in attendance.
Newcastleton traditional music festival which takes place over the last weekend in June, when the village is packed with musicians and music lovers who gather and play all around the village, the water side is full of tents and exhibitions.
The famous Holm Show takes place in the village on the last Saturday in August,since 1883 where exhibitors come from all over to take part.
The Melrose Borders Book festival takes place in and around a Cistercian Abbey in June where renowned authors arrive and give talks and there are various workshops etc that you can take part.
