Lovely 4 Bed home swap in Norwich, England
Our detached family home in Norwich is light-filled, clean and spacious in a quiet and sought-after residential area.
Being based in Norwich allows for a flexible and varied-interest holiday, with all the advantages that an attractive historic City holds with the added benefit of being close to coast, countryside and broads.
We live within walking distance of our beautiful city centre with its Norman Castle, cobbled streets, daily market, traditional pubs, two Cathedrals, ancient churches, theatres - and all the shopping you could wish for. Norwich is a cultural hub for the region with a vibrant and thriving arts scene and we are home to the world-famous Sainsbury Centre (a magnificent Norman Foster building) which houses a prestigious collection of art, sculpture and artefacts from around the globe.
We have beaches galore only a short drive away: from the vast tranquility of Holkham (recently voted Britain's top beach), the family friendly seaside towns of Hunstanton and Wells, the traditional fishing port of Lowestoft, the Victorian splendour of Cromer with its pier, the fun and bright lights of Great Yarmouth and the gentility of Southwold. The stunning coastal scenery of North Norfolk particularly appeals to walkers, photographers and birders while the magical Norfolk Broads, with its many miles of ancient waterways, are also a nearby destination not to be missed.
The area is crammed full of heritage sites, and other daytrips could include visits to Sandringham, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Kings Lynn, the stately homes of Blickling and Felbrigg Halls, with London an accessible 1 hour 50 minutes train ride away. We have so many other amenities and places of interest to visit so please don't hesitate to ask us what else is on offer.
Our house, built in 1950, is well laid out and uncluttered with wi-fi throughout. Downstairs, as you come in through the porch, we have a cosy family room which opens onto a modern, well-equipped kitchen with induction hob, double oven, double sink, tons of storage and granite worktop space, built in larder fridge, pull out pantry, dishwasher and microwave. Our large dining room with family dining table to seat six has French doors that lead out onto the Yorkshire stone patio and good-sized, south-facing garden. The dining room opens on to the conservatory, where you can relax in comfort and look out onto the peace of the garden. Also off the dining room is the sitting room: a large but cosy room with original parquet floor, cable television and DVD, books, music and games and a wood burning stove. There is also a downstairs loo and an annexe room, with pull out sofa bed, and a shower; this leads through to the utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and freezer. The house has attractive wooden double glazing throughout, central heating, a water softner system and mainly wood, tiled and laminate floors downstairs. Upstairs is carpeted except for the tiled bathroom.
Up the stairs is a double bedroom to the front, with a King sized bed and wonderfully comfortable memory foam mattress, next door is an office, then along the landing to another, smaller, double bedroom and finally a single bedroom both of which look out over the garden.
Five minutes walk away from our house is a tranquil park with play area, wood and nature reserve and a golf course. We have quiet but friendly neighbours, little through traffic and several main bus routes five minutes walk away. The station is a few minutes drive where you can catch trains to all the major tourist areas in the region.
