Lovely 1 Bed home in Girona, Spain

My apartment is located right in the heart of the Old Town in Girona, the capital of Catalonia, Spain.

Fantastically positioned between Barcelona and the French border, Girona is a phenomenal base to travel to the Costa Brava (30km away) or the Pyrenees (an easy 1hr drive). Or you can get your cultural fix in Figueres, an easy train ride away, visiting Dali's famous museum or Gala's Castle in Pubol. Girona is a hub for public transport with a small airport which flies to most major European cities, buses, trains and easy road access to the coast or the Pyrenees.

My apartment - located on a quiet, cobbled lined street just below fortifications of the city wall which were built in the 14th century - has all the charm of the old town, situated in a quaint old building, but with the luxuries of modern living. Light wood flooring and high ceilings combined with three double opening doors throughout the apartment make it a beacon of light and a fantastic place to put your feet up during siesta after long mornings exploring all Catalonia has to offer. The apartment also offers one of the best views of the city and it's surroundings with a small balcony to enjoy them on.

With a population of just under 100,000 Girona is the perfect mix of city and country. A tightly packed city centre is soon left behind for unbelievable outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, or sailing. As one of the many professional cyclists who have flocked to the city for it's mix of fantastic training roads and easy access to transport I would be more than happy to recommend great cycling loops which you could explore yourself or a fantastic bike hire/tour company which caters to cycling tourists. You could be cycling on the roads used by many former and current international cycling superstars such as Lance Armstrong, George Hincapie and Bradley Wiggins.

-Queen bed with additional mattresses/sheets for visitors.

-Fits two comfortably for long stay. Additional double and single mattress for visitors. MAX 5 for (extremely) short stay.

-wireless internet, washer.

I'm looking for a home exchange in late 2012 to New York City. After holidaying there in 2011 I've fallen in love with the city and want to spend a little longer discovering all it has to offer.
