Little Lintorp

One hour from Stockholm and 25 minutes from Skavsta airport is this cosy cottage in an idyllic location in the historic village of Lid. Here you can enjoy the tranquility of the country side. Swim in secluded lakes, walk and cycle through open landscape or vast forests, have a barbecue on your terrace and enjoy views of fields, herds of deer and a glittering lake in the distance. A charming riverside town is 20 minutes drive away.

The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed (160 cm wide), one with a bunk bed with two singles (90 cm wide). Sofa bed in the living room that sleeps one. If needed you can also borrow a foldable cot and a high chair for a baby or toddler. Open plan living room and kitchenette. There is a TV and DVD-player in the living room. The kitchenette has a fridge/freezer, microwave, small cooker, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. There is a small shower room with WC, and a small washing machine. The cottage is in our garden, ca 25 metres from our house, and ca 40 metres from the nearest neighbour. The cottage has its own out door seating area with a barbecue and scenic views of open fields and a lake in the distance.

We live in Lid, an idyllic village situated in beautiful country side. The views from the garden are of open fields with grazing deer and bouncy hares and two glittering lakes. A vast forest and several more lakes are within walking distance. When exploring on foot or bike you can see Viking graves and runestones and visit a medieval church with unique painted ceilings. If you are staying for Midsummer you can take part in a traditional Swedish Midsummer celebration on the village green. On April the 30th (Valborgsmässoafton) there is a traditional bonfire on the village green to celebrate the arrival of spring. The Lid Fun Run takes place in early August with a race around Lake Glottran (7 km). On the last Saturday in September there is an autumn market in the village hall.

You are likely to see deer every day, and if you are lucky you may also spot elk and wild boar. You are free to roam, swim and pick berries and mushrooms almost everywhere in the Swedish country side.



About the location

The cottage is in the county of Södermanland. The nearest town is charming Nyköping, 20 km away (20 minutes drive, one hour by bike). It has riverside restaurants, boutiques and a medieval castle. Drive one hour north to reach Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, where you can stroll in the Old Town, visit the Vasa ship museum, take a boat trip to the archipelago, go on a roller coaster in the Grona Lund amusement park and much more. Other attractions that you can reach in one hour´s drive include the Kolmården safari park and Gripsholm Castle that houses the National Portrait Gallery. The cottage is 25 minutes drive from Stockholm Skavsta airport, and 145 km from Stockholm Arlanda airport.
