Country House between two lakes in the National Park

6 bedroom historic house dating back to the 1820’s.
Situated in over an acre of grounds and surrounded by beautiful Lakeland scenery.
4 double bedrooms in main house, one with an ensuite.
Main house bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower.
An extra garden bedroom outside which is newly renovated Kingsize bed and seating area.This is served by a tiny shower room with loo & sink a few seconds walk away.
The garden room also has a lovely wood fired hot tub next to it which has jets and lighting. Perfect for watching the sunsets. There is also an outdoor seating area here with a fire pit.
In the main ‘compound’ there is a walled garden, a kitchen garden with terrace and a small orchard.
The kitchen & pantry are well equipped and has an island with 4 stools, a range cooker and dishwasher. Laundry facilities are in the basement with a washing machine and dryer. There’s also a large freezer & additional fridge in the basement.

About the location

Phenomenal location in the National Park. Lake Windermere with all the water sports, climbing and walking you can imagine including 214 ‘Wainwright’ Fells. 10 minutes drive to Coniston. 5 minutes drive to Hawkshead. 5 minutes to the Grizedale Forest with Go Ape & mountain biking. Walk to Beatrix Potter’s Hilltop in a mere moment.
2 hour drive to Edinburgh or a short train ride to the major cities of Manchester and Liverpool (home of the Beatles Experience and Tate Gallery).
We are happy to swap with like minded, responsible people. We have 3 cats, so prefer no dogs unless they are already guaranteed to be cat friendly. One cat is very old and lives indoors, the other two are often out. We have dogs but they will not be at home during the swap. We have three chickens who require feeding. We are experienced home swappers and have previously enjoyed swaps in Sweden, Andalucia and Suffolk.
We are specifically looking for EUROPE SUMMER 2023. Our dates are quite specific because we do Airbnb so we have commitments to get back for. Saturday 1st or Sunday 2nd July 2023 for two weeks.
