Tudor cottage in charming market town home swap
I have a 400-year-old Grade-II-listed two-bedroom house in Faversham, voted 'the best market town in Kent'. The house features oak beams, 18th-century bread ovens (no longer working!), wood stove, computer and broadband, a small herb and fruit garden, 6'6" Bluthner grand piano, Arts and Crafts antiques, plenty of books, CDs and DVDs, and far too much cooking gadgetry. Sadly the cat in the photo is now gone to her reward. We like to keep our home very tidy and clean, but keep in mind that it is 400+ years old, so it's not perfect! But we are regularly on the Faversham historical homes tour and people seem to enjoy the house very much indeed.
Near the centre of town, with easy walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants, movie theatre, trains and of course Faversham's nearly 500 listed buildings. Trains to London take 70 minutes; Canterbury and Whitstable are 15 minutes, and there is a direct train to Ebbsfleet where you can pick up the Eurostar to the continent. Easy driving distance to the Kent coast, birdwatching on the Oare marshes, excellent country walking and many other tourist attractions.
