• payment receipt plus acknowledgement by email giving further information as soon as you join, including how to add photos and make changes to your listing

Note: Once you finish entering information on the membership form for your listing you will be transferred to the Barclaycard secure site to complete your payment details. Please follow the instructions carefully (we choose Barclays payment site for it's advanced security features which does mean there are a few short steps to go through before completing the transaction and returning to the Home Base Holidays site). All major credit and debit cards are accepted.

Security Information

• Security - Once you complete the membership form you will be transferred to the Barclaycard secure server to enter credit or debit card details. The Barclaycard site uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to encrypt credit and debit card details whilst in transit. The site address will begin with 'https://' rather than 'http://' once you have been transferred to the secure site. If you are using Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator a golden padlock appears at the bottom of the screen when a secure site is entered.
• Privacy: for your security, Home Base Holidays does not publish any contact details, including your email address. All correspondence with other members is done in your own private member area on the website. You decide when you are ready to share any contact information with another member.
• As Home Base Holidays is based in the United Kingdom, member online credit payments are classed as mail order or telephone order sales and, as such, are covered by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and the Trade Descriptions Act 1976.

All content within this site, including each home exchange listing, is copyright and exclusively available to members of Home Base Holidays and members of our partner agencies in the First Home Exchange Alliance for the express purpose of arranging home exchanges. No part of its contents may be used for commercial solicitations by any other company, organisation or individual. This site is a service of a for-fee private membership organisation, and all information contained herein is unconditionally private and not in the public domain. This information is not sold or distributed publicly. No part of this online database may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, transmitted in any form or in any language, by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopied, recorded or otherwise. Unauthorised use of this site will be fully exposed and will be confronted to the fullest degree of all applicable laws, both national and international. Further, all monies will be forfeited if unauthorised use is established.

Members agree that Home Base Holidays shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or other damages whatsoever, regardless of the form of the claim, including but not limited to liability for cancellations, injuries to persons or damages to property, including cars or vehicles. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Your responsibilities to other home exchange members

It is your responsibility to respond promptly to all exchange offers you receive and to let any other members you are in correspondence with know as soon as you have agreed to an exchange offer. Ensure you are satisfied with all arrangements before agreeing to go ahead with an exchange. Never cancel a firm exchange agreement but, if cancelation is unavoidable (due to serious illness or a death in the family) do your utmost to help your exchange partners with alternative accommodation. Leave your home clean and tidy for your exchange guests. Treat all homes and vehicles entrusted to you with care, leaving them in the condition you found them on your departure.
