Our house is a 4 double-bed, 3 bath Victorian terrace in West Hampstead, a busy, friendly neighbourhood close to town but only 1 mile from Hampstead Heath, the largest and highest open space in London. We are close to local shops, bars and cafes & a short walk to the tube & buses.
The house is on 3 different levels, carpeted throughout, comfortable and warm, with a fabulous 27 ft basement dining kitchen and a sitting room the same size at ground level. The ground floor bedroom has an en suite shower room, & French windows to a small walled town garden. The master bed has an en suite bathroom. Two more beds on the top floor with large walk-in shower and bath and small extra kitchen. Wireless internet and Sky TV.
But the great thing is the location: you can be in the centre of London within 30 mins by bus or tube - or in 15 mins walk to historic Hampstead Village for its Dickensian pubs, smart shops and healthy hikes on the Heath. Wonderful at Christmas.

I am a school administrator, my partner a retired actor. We are hoping to spend Christmas & New Year 09/10 in Sydney with our grown-up children, two of whom are on their way back home from working for 2 years in the US, so this would be a great location for a reunion. We would like a minimum 3 double-bed house, close to the harbour or beaches. We know Sydney well from holidays & work trips but this would be our first exchange. We are also interested in swapping for the whole of the London Olympics in 2012!
