Mission Bay is the Restaurant area of Auckland full of international restaurants - sit on the sidewalk enjoying the food, people watching - watching the ships/boats entering the harbour, the many yachts as they sail up to the marinas, the kite boarders and windsurfers. Delightful walks along the promenade/waterfront to Auckland and to neighbouring seaside villages. Local movie theatre combines classic Art Decor style with the latest cinema technology, the most comfortable seats in Auckland, and the latest quality movies in a four screen cinema complex. Central to all motorways, a 3 hour drive takes one to New Zealand's thermal areas and the snow and lakes of the central North Island and North to Bay of Islands.
