ISLAY House

Islay House is a beautiful, Victorian home in the peaceful village of Pencaitland. Ideally situated for accessing Edinburgh or the golf courses and beaches of East Lothian. The accommodation forms the East Wing of our home and has its own front door, is all on one level- private garden and gated driveway.

About the location

The house has a fully equipped modern kitchen, Wi-Fi, 56inch Smart TV with Netflix and Prime. The village has 2 shops, Petrol Station, a Gastropub, and the Glenkinchie Whisky distillery.

From our front door we have access to miles of woodland walks and off road cycle paths. The Spar shop is great for picking up your fresh morning rolls and papers. We are looking forward to the grand reopening of the Winton Arms as a Gastropub in early 2022. The 100 seat restaurant and pub promises to be a real asset to the village.

Opposite the restaurant is Winton Castle, where you could enjoy wine tasting, fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting, off road driving and other out door pursuits. Whiskey lovers will enjoy a tasting tour at the award winning Glenkinchie distillery which is a short walk from our house. The gardens are beautiful and the elevated restaurant has panoramic views. The historic market town of Haddington is nearby for larger shops, exceptional restaurants and pubs.

The property gives you the best of both world equally. Edinburgh city 25 mins and the beautiful costal towns of North Berwick,beaches,golf and castles-the same distance.so good fusion of city buzz and relaxing slower countryside.
