Orange Door

Our riverside Victorian home (with an orange door!) near the centre of the beautiful city of York has been recently and lovingly renovated in a modern-yet-retro style.

Our home has three large double bedrooms, one of which is a loft-extension with an ensuite and another which doubles as a study and has a dual-fuel stove, a first floor bathroom with a large walk-in shower and bath tub, a large sitting room with a working fireplace, a very well-equipped kitchen with a large double-oven range, a dining room, ground floor toilet and front and back gardens.

About the location

Our short, friendly Victorian street has a cafe and parade of shops (including one of the UK's oldest whole-food shops!) at one end, and steps leading to the river at the other. Turn right at the river and you can walk into the beautiful and bustling city centre in 5 minutes, left and you can walk or cycle forever through fields and paths out of the city and into the countryside. A short walk across the river is a large park and the cafes, shops and restaurants of the popular Bishy Road. Many small and large grocery shops are within walking distance, as are many traditional and/or hip pubs and a range of quality restaurants.

York is also well connected to London, Edinburgh and Manchester with quick and frequent public transport and motorway links.
