Cosy canal-side book-filled house
A small, cosy 19th-century house with two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with a small child's bed) and a small double fold-out bed in one of two studies. Long inviting garden down to the Oxford Canal. Round the corner from Port Meadow - which has not been built on since the Middle Ages, has horses and is bordered by a slow shallow section of the Thames. Across the canal we look into the Trap Grounds, a wildlife haven. Easy walk or short cycle into Oxford and all its world-class attractions - colleges, art galleries, music, architecture. The house is full of books. We also have a piano.
About the location
North Oxford is beautiful and leafy and is both very close to central Oxford and feels slightly removed from it. Close to restaurants and bars of Walton Street, and to the area of Oxford - Jericho - made famous by Philip Pullman in His Dark Materials.
