Nestled at the foothills of the Chiltern Hills - South Weston

Our home is nestled at the foothills of the beautiful Chiltern Hills, providing stunning views all around of the local countryside. Our home is over 100 years old and has three bedrooms, all with lovely views. We have two young children and so there are plenty of toys and games and all of the extras you may need if staying with a young family too. We have a newly built outdoor kitchen and deck with wood fired pizza oven and BBQ which is great for warm Summer and Autumn evenings. We also have a small firepit for colder nights and plenty of wood to use. There is a lovely conservatory which is great for lazy breakfasts or late suppers, which has uninterrupted Sunset views. The garden is well equipped for children with a double swing, trampoline and summer house and paddling pool. The neighbouring fields have horses which you can see almost daily from the garden. I am a Chef and so there is a well stocked pantry and lots of cooking equipment, and a double range cooker. For Winter and colder months we have a new log burner which heats the whole house up nicely. On a clear evening you can see so many stars as there are no street lights or much light pollution.
Heathrow airport is approx 45 mins away and also serviced by a frequent coach service to the nearby village.

About the location

We are lucky to live in the beautiful quiet countryside yet are close to local links such as the M40 (5mins) which goes to Oxford (20 mins to centre) or directly to London (1 hour). There is also a great coach service which runs 24hours a day every 15 mins to London and Oxford.

Nearby is Thame, a nice market town with a good food market every Tuesday, and Watlington which has shops and a great bakery.

There are lots of good restaurants nearby, from Le Manoir (15mins) to The Mash Inn (20 mins), Crazy Bear (15mins) and much more. Oxford has a Westgate Shopping Centre with cinema, bars, shops and street food and the City has beautiful architecture and museums, many of which are free. There are lots of nearby attractions for Children (Odds Farm 20 mins) and National Trust attractions nearby (Cliveden, Hellfire Caves, Stonor Park).

Henley (which hosts the famous rowing regatta in July) and Marlow (nice shopping and great food scene) are within 20 mins drive if you want to be near the Thames.
There are also a number of micro breweries in the area and even some wineries as well which do tours! The Chilterns has a number of good gin distilleries as well.
For shopping, Oxford has a new Westgate shopping complex and Bicester Village is also about 30 mins drive away for designer bargains.
A little further away is Watford (45 mins) which has the Harry Potter museum which is a good half day out.
Oxford has lots of beautiful architecture and history, as well as good shopping and punting/boating on the River Thames.

We can help with advice for restaurants and things to do locally or even further afield - there is so much to see and do in this beautiful part of the Country. There are many local walks to do nearby, one of which is just 30 seconds from our house. There are sheep, cows, pheasants, horses, deer and even a local barn owl!
