West Lodge - Jersey

West Lodge is a detached house in the rural parish of St Ouen in Jersey the British Channel Islands, 20 miles of the Brittany coast of France and a hundred miles from the south coast of the UK.

Built in the 1920`s it was originally part of St Ouens Manor.

The property is surrounded by 2 Acres of land and includes a small-holding started in 2010 when the Golden Guernsey goats were reintroduced into Jersey by John and Angela and the process of organically increasing the size of the herd began. There is a history of goat herds in Jersey that mainly died out in the 2nd World War and many locals have fond memories of goats and particularly Golden Guernseys being kept by their families in their youth.

The fresh cheeses produced on the farm include the popular Jerriaise D’or Rosemary and extra virgin olive oil, Jerriaise D’or honey infused with Jerriaise D’or Lavender, Jerriaise D’or thyme, smoked spicy paprika and cracked black.

The house is a 20 min walk to St Ouens Beach a beautiful unspoiled 5 mile stretch of sand, popular with surfers.
