Home in the heart of the arts precinct - Melbourne, Southbank

Our family home is three bedrooms apartment on the top level of a four storey apartment building. Unfortunately we do not have a lift to the apartment though and it is a walk up three flights of stairs.

The apartment has two levels. The base level has an open plan living area and modest kitchen, main bathroom (with a small bath), european laundry and two smaller bedrooms in the back. There is a large master bedroom upstairs with an ensuite (with a shower).

The master bedroom contains a queen sized bed with storage. The first downstairs contains a king single bed with a trundle and a cot and the second contains a queen sized bed.

The master bedroom looks out onto Melbourne city with views of the Eureka tower and other high rises. The bedrooms on the lower level though look out over the garden onto the pool and trees. From the lounge area and balcony central Melbourne there is a gap between the building opposite the apartment so we look out largely onto trees from the gardens in Melbourne`s Kings Domain park.

About the location

We live in a quiet street in the heart of Melbourne`s arts precinct, just adjacent to the city centre and Southbank promenade/ Yarra River. We are surrounded by theatres, art galleries and gardens. Within 10 minutes walk from our apartment you will find:
- Melbourne`s Arts Centre
- Botanical Gardens
- Malthouse Theatre
- Melbourne Recital Centre
- Hamer Hall
- National Gallery of Victoria - International Collection
- Australian Centre for Contemporary Art
- Buxton Contemporary
- Southbank Theatre
- Shrine of Remembrance
- Sidney Myer Music Bowl

We are less than 5 minutes walk from St Kilda Road trams and a brisk 10 minute walk to the Yarra River, Flinders Street Station and Federation Square. ANZAC station are part of Melbourne`s new metro tunnel will be about 10 minutes walk in the other direction.

We are also 20 minutes walk from South Melbourne market and approximately 10 minutes drive from Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre and Albert Park.

It is also about a 20 - 30 minute walk across the gardens to Melbourne`s premier sports precinct including Rod Laver Arena, AAMI and on to the MCG.

We currently walk to our places of work near Docklands with our baby daughter and it takes us about 25 - 30 pushing a pram along the Southbank promenade.

Our house is also very close to the entrance to major highways to get to all parts of the city yet far enough away that we do not hear any noise or have air quality issues.
