Perfectly located to enjoy the beaches, London and Europe by train, ferry or car. The house is over two floors, with downstairs wc, utility, kitchen and two receptions rooms for lounging. Upstairs has one bathroom with shower and roll top bath and separate wc. There is one very small bedroom, one medium bedroom and two lovely double bedrooms. It has been newly decorated and has a warm welcome feel which comes alive when the house is full. It can handle a big family with it’s generous corridor widths and front and back gardens. It is 450m from the beach and the very popular Walpole Tidal Pool, it’s a real treat in summer.

About the location

Margate has seen a lot of change over the last ten years as it has gone from a forgotten seaside tourist town to a creative hub which people now come to live as well as visit. Cheap house prices gave people mainly from London the chance to buy a bigger house or their first house. With this has come a surge of new shops, restaurants, gallery’s, including the Turner Contemporary, and services. The vibrancy of the town is great with a creative buzz which is infectious and inspiring especially for us as architects. Most of those who have moved here in the last 15 years have a creative background or self employed. The combination of those who have ‘just’ arrived and those who have lived here for a long time provides a rich and sometimes clashing backdrop to the town. In many ways it is a bit of London by the sea. The proximity to London is great, 1h30 on clean trains with plug points and only 20mins to Canterbury, a beautiful city. You are also 50mins from Folkestone where you can get the eurotunnel over to France, 45mins from Dover where you can get the Ferry to France or 50mins from Ashford International where you can get the Eurostar train to France and the rest of Europe. It`s a great base and a fab place to live and we really enjoy it!
