About the location

Bristol is fun and interesting - there are lots of friendly, creative and enterprising people around. It has vibrant cultural life. It is also very easy to get to beautiful countryside, and get out for walking, climbing, cycling.

Our area, Ashley Down, is near the centre, but in a friendly safe neighbourhood with plenty of green. It is especially good for:

Cafes and parks

Supermarkets - 5 mins walk or drive

Gloucester Road, famous for quirky independent shops, and some of Bristol`s best cafes, great multicultural restaurants - 15 mins walk

Cricket ground - 5 mins walk
Park with playground - 5 mins walk
Huge parks - 20 mins drive (Leigh Woods, Ashton Court)
Clifton Suspension Bridge - 15 mins drive or local train
For cyclists, our cycle path normally takes you into the city centre in 10 - 15 mins along lovely green lanes away from roads, but is closed for a year, so it now takes about 15 minutes, a bit more complicated!
St Werburghs City Farm & Cafe (great for kids) - 10 - 15 mins walk.

City centre for museums, art, theatre, shopping etc is 15 - 25 mins by bike or car, or 20 mins by bus.

Countryside: Somerset Levels, Mendips, Cheddar Gorge, Brecon Beacons, Welsh mountains - lots of spectacular walking within an hour`s drive. Nearest good beaches 1 hr 30 mins.
