Our home is a modernised Edwardian house with a pretty, sunny garden in a quiet street in South London but within easy walking distance of lots of shops, bars and restaurants and public transport. The open plan ground floor - clean, spacious and very bright - includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area with double doors leading to the garden and a comfortable sitting area with a bay window on the street side. Upstairs are 2 double bedrooms (both with double beds), a small office and a bathroom with shower. The house has wooden floors throughout and all the necessary modern technology (washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, tv, computer, wifi). The garden is on the South side and therefore very sunny. It has a large dining table with benches and a BBQ and in Summer you can sit under our beautiful silk tree.

About the location

Our house is located in a safe and very friendly residential street in Tooting, an area that is now considered one of the cool districts of London. The high street with shops and a wide range of cafes, bars and restaurants is just a 5 minutes walk away and just around the corner is a lovely Italian deli/cafe which is the place to go for a coffee and a chat with local people. Tooting Broadway, the nearest underground station is very close (less than 10 minutes walk). From here it takes just 20 minutes to get to the South Bank with the London Eye, National Theatre, National Film Theatre, Royal Festival Hall, etc.) or 25 minutes to Central London. At 10 minutes walk from the house you find Tooting Common, a large green space with tennis courts, cafe, playground and the famous Tooting Bec Lido, the largest open air swimming pool in the UK.
Wimbledon, famous for it's lawn tennis tournament in June is only a short bus ride away.
