An 18th century thatched barn on the shores of Strangford Lough - a rural gem - Killinchy

We live in an 18th century thatched barn on the shores of Strangford Lough in an area of "outstanding natural beauty". We are located 30 minutes from Belfast.

Our cottage / barn is full of character - as we have successfully retained as much of the original features as possible. There is a very "laid back feel " to our home. The kitchen is an Irish Farmhouse style with a large rustic dining table - seating 8 / 10. The kitchen has all mod cons. We have hens and dogs and an outdoor cat! So you can have fresh eggs every day. Our home was featured on Channel 4 with Kirsty Allsop as a rural retreat in County Down. Strangford Lough is 100m from our front door and is perfect for sailing / watersports. We have boats and water "toys".

WE also grow our own herbs/ some vegetables in our walled garden.

About the location

We are located 30 mins from Belfast City centre and 30 minutes from City Airport. We are about an hour from Belfast International Airport.

Our home is nestled between the Drumlins and the Lough - it is truly beautiful.
There are 3 award winning Restaurants and a Michelin starred Restaurant in our local area. We have an old style Grocery Store with a coffee shop and a Craft Shop and a Post Office in the village of Killinchy - 1 mile from our home. Comber is the nearest town with all amenities - leisure centre, cafes, restaurants, bars etc.

We live in a very rural setting - peaceful and removed from the hustle and bustle of life. Yet we are convenient to Belfast, to the Airport etc.
