Cosy 150 year old cottage

We have a cosy 150 year old cottage in a quiet road in historic Ottery (birthplace of Samuel Taylor Coleridge). It is clean and well kept but please don`t expect a luxurious place. It`s humble, but none the worse for that! It has an interesting garden on three levels with a little pond (I heard a frog the other day but it has since failed to put in an appearance). The garden has views of the distant hills. There is a studio in the garden that is fully insulated and can be used as an adventurous place to sleep perhaps, making a cottage for 4 people.

We have a cat, a lovely, well behaved cat, who will probably keep out of your way until tea time. If this is a problem, then we can work around that perhaps and ask him to pack his suitcase for a bit. I didn`t mark `Pet care required` on the data because it`s not required although preferable!

About the location

Ottery St Mary is an historic and pretty Devon town, with a fine church, surrounded by rolling countryside. It is a great base for exploring Devon. The sea is twenty minutes away (Sidmouth, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton etc). Exeter is close. Exmoor and Dartmoor are within easy reach, as are the Blackdown Hills of Somerset and the North Devon coast. It takes 20 minutes to get into Dorset. Cornwall is an easy day trip.
