Pretty Northern Beaches cottage - Frenchs Forest, Sydney

THE HOUSE, is single storey wood on brick with three bedrooms and ducted central heating, which I would not be without as it makes it very cosy in the cooler months.

There are polished floors in all the living areas. The lounge, opening directly off the entrance hall, has two large picture windows. This in turn flows into the dining room and from there into a large, timbered kitchen.
The three bedrooms are carpeted, and the bathroom includes a separate shower and a bath tub. The hall runs through the house to the backdoor and a separate laundry and the garden. A covered patio area gets the sun most of the day so it is a great spot for breakfast and in the evening to relax with a glass of wine.
The enclosed, private garden has a pool, not heated but fully maintained so there is nothing for exchangers to do. The lawns are cut when needed.
There is also access from the garden to the carport.
A small Mazda car could be included in the exchange though she is rather elderly and not up for long journeys.

About the location

My lovely timber cottage is north of the Harbour Bridge in the Bantry Bay area of Frenchs Forest which means it is ideally placed for both city and beaches.
It is a very quiet area which leads down to the national park where there are some lovely walks, and the bay beyond. Yet you can be at the main road in a couple of minutes and arriving at the northern beaches suburb of Narrabeen in 6 or 7 minutes. From there you are within easy reach of such as Mona Vale, Avalon, Palm Beach and Collaroy.
Take another direction from Bantry Bay and you can drive down the hill to Manly in 10 minutes, (though you can see the village long before that) where there are loads of interesting restaurants and coffee shops/
It is also within easy reach of Chatswood and its big shopping malls, and about 25 minutes from the city.
I usually go to the city on the bus as there is a very good service which terminates at the Queen Victoria Building in the city centre. The bus stop is about 10 minutes walk from the house.
