Parking in front of house. BBQ Area on piece of land in the center of village 20m from Kitchen/Front door, Fresh Herbs in abundance. Swimming Pool access in Olive Groves in next village 300m ...a nice walk through meadows. Resident cats on the wall outside of the kitchen who do appreciate a saucer of milk in the morning and a chat over coffee!
20min on foot over river in Medieval Village, Cultural Association 'La Colombera'. While Guests at house you will have access to the rooms and Outdoor Seating in the courtyard and Herb Garden of the cultural association "La Colombera". Access to the Medieval building, where Art Exhibitions are hosted....also a bar with local wines and fresh produce to sample or where you may simply want to grab a coffee to enjoy in the Borgo setting.

Leave the car parked... and enjoy the immediate surroundings...river swimming is a must, ultimate chilling out on the rocks with the crickets and geckos...set in the national park, "Parco del Apennino Tosco Emiliano" there is many a valley to explore! The local bar "Il Capriolo" 20 min on foot, serves excellent local food and wine, a popular social venue for the surrounding villagers in the summer evenings, great for kids too. Also the excellent Pizzeria opens at the weekend, dinning al fresco with mountain views. Organic local meat from nearby village Butcher 15min walk over the river. Tuscan beef that melts in your mouth. In Tavernelle the Shepard's wife also has a small village shop with all kinds of local produce on offer. The same flock of sheep you will encounter on your stroll down to the river! If you would like fresh eggs just go to the bar and ask for Cristina! Or if you fancy going porcini hunting the bar man may give you some tips in the right direction....if you are lucky! In the next village up from Montale called Catognano (300m), a pleasant walk by night or day through meadows where friendly horses graze is the Agriturismo 'Casa Turchetti', here you may enjoy gourmet local produce in elegant surroundings and stumble or roll back down the hill watching shooting stars and fire flies before bed ! If you so wish! Here you will also have swimming pool access if you by a drink or have a bit to eat, excellent lunches in the shade of the deconsecrated chapel, a real step back in time.
