Seaside, South Downs National Park and River Adur on door step...and Brighton

Modern and spacious 3 bedroom semi detached in quiet suburb of Brighton, mainline train station and excellent road links to surrounding areas and South East.

The main selling point when we viewed this house was the quiet south facing garden with decked area. To the front there is space for two cars on drive and a garage to store bikes etc. The open plan kitchen, diner and lounge with two sets of sliding glass doors open on the decking which continues the light and airy feeling. In the lounge at the front there is a flatscreen tv with Sky +. Overall home is in good clean decorative order. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble drier.

Bedrooms include master bedroom with king size double bed, memory foam mattress which is very comfortable. 2nd bedroom currently made up as a child's room with single bunk bed, we can make this into two beds by adding a mattress to the bottom or if preferred we can build up a steel framed bed which would also fit in the room and offer anyone who preferred a regular bed this option. Our third bedroom is currently made up as a babies room with cot. This does has a double sofa bed in it which can be made up. We also have a travel cot which could replace the cot in here. Basically there are lots of bed options, this just suits us at the moment, but with the king size double sofa bed in the lounge also we have had double figures stay before at Christmas and everyone had a bed!

About the location

A gentle 10 mins walk into town from the house on Downsway, Shoreham by Sea is a lovely seaside town with all you could need for daily shopping, eating and drinking out. Shoreham has a large shingle beach, a river with quiet walks and flat cycle rides and the South Downs National Park within 5 mins walk of the house to the north with plenty of gentle but also some strenuous hills with amazing views.

There is a train station in the town centre which takes about 8 mins heading west to the large seaside town of Worthing with its large beaches and main shops. It also has a prom to walk along and pier. To the east is Brighton which is slightly longer by train or a 20-30min+ drive depending on traffic. It has everything you could need in a very compact and vibrant city.

The house itself is 2mins from Buckingham Park which has a play ground and plenty of space for getting some fresh air. Downsway is surrounded by quiet residential streets. Within a 10 min walk there is a tesco express, several newsagents, the Amsterdam and Red Lion pub (next to the old wooden toll bridge over the River Adur).

Less than a 5min drive is a the large Holmbush shopping centre with a Tesco Extra superstore, M&S and swimming pool. There is also Shoreham airport which has a lovely Art Deco style cafe and resturant and views of the downs and Lancing College with its grand chapel.

To the north of Shoreham there are plenty of other small towns and villages to explore. Bramber and Steyning, with their castle ruins and high street respectively, both offer plenty of eating and drinking options. They are a 10min easy drive or a leisurely cycle or walk along the downs link (former railway line now resurfaced s a multiuse bridle way) that follows the River Adur.

Whatever your interests, be it shopping, eating out, hitting the beach or exploring nature they is plenty on the doorstep.

We moved here from Brighton 2 years ago with our young family and love the sheer space and quietness with the downs and seaside being so close. Shoreham also offers the option to get back to the hussle and bustle of Worthing or Brighton if you wish to easily.
