Cottage in ''Czech Canada'' - Cimer

Old-fashioned cottage dating from 1873 with simple facilities. Adjacent to forest with stream at edge of property. Large living / dining room with wood-fired stove for heating and cooking. Also, electric elements in kitchen can be used for cooking. Water comes from a well (water pump in cottage). Four bedrooms - two in attic, which have a tendency to get v. hot in summer and v. cold in winter. Wood-fired stoves in the 2 downstairs bedrooms. Cosy and quiet atmosphere with plenty of outdoor space. BBQ and outdoor table, chairs etc.

About the location

500 metres to a swimming place at the local lake. Forest walks, and also a great area for cycling. If you feel like rowing or swimming in a much bigger lake, then it's less than 30kms to Lake Stankov right on the border with Austria. In fact, you can hire a rowboat there and row over to Austria for a picnic! Or if you prefer cycling or driving, you can get there by car from the cottage in about 15 minutes.

Only 30kms to UNESCO-listed town of Telc. 70kms to UNESCO-listed town of Cesky Krumlov.

The area, where our cottage is located, is known as ''Czech Canada'', but actually the whole of South Bohemia is quite picturesque. Not only the UNESCO-listed places, but also the nearest town, Jindrichuv Hradec, which boasts a fabulous castle, where opera is performed in the castle's courtyard in the late summer.
