Les Petits Moulins

Mine is a comfortable apartment with a large bedroom, open plan kitchen/sitting room, bathroom, sun room and garden, also off road car parking, situated on a very little used small road. The sort of place where when a car passes we all turn and stare! It's in a typical stone house of the region, one of a small group of former water mills.

About the location

The house and apartment are in a National Park area, very wooded and full of lakes. Ten minutes walk through the woods is a 360 acre swimming and fishing lake. On the lake there is a very good restaurant open all year plus two snack bars which are open during the summer months. The village has a bakery, bar/antique shop (where one can enjoy an excellent lunch at weekends) and a 12th century church. My property is about 5 minutes walk from the village. The village is situated between three main towns, each with its attractions - Limoges (porcelaine), Périgueux (Renaissance centre and Roman remains) and Angoulême (hand made paper and the centre for the French comic book). Like most towns in France each has its old centre and wonderful restaurants and markets. Apart from those three places there are countless small towns and villages all around worth a visit, with many cultural events especially during the summer months. It's a perfect holiday for enthusiastic walkers and nature lovers as well as foodies. There are two weekly produce markets within 8 km., one of them the largest in the region.
