Lovely 1-Bedroom Home in Vienna, Austria

*Fancy a last minute trip to magical Vienna? We would love to spend two weeks in a house in the countryside some time between 19th of December and 15th of January.

A 2-room, very sunny and lovingly treated apartment which can comfortably accommodate two people (and a child or children who might joyously bask in the Prater amusement park) in central Vienna. Located on the 6th floor of an apartment building all windows facing south, with the metro station Messe/Prater around the corner. The U2 lines takes you directly to the very heart of the city in just 10 minutes. The apartment consists of two main rooms, one bedroom featuring a double bed, and a living room with a fully equipped kitchen. The sofa in the living room can be folded out into a handy bed for extra guests. The bathroom, closet and toilet are all separate, of course.

What can also be taken into consideration is a (non-simultaneous) exchange to our family house close to Riegersburg (Styria): a 300-year-old cottage in the Austrian countryside in the middle of vineyards and fruit trees with a magical flower garden, as well as some excellent restaurants and gourmet shops with local delicacies within a 15-minute drive.

About the location

The building is surrounded by many shops for all your daily needs, and is close to the Danube Island, a popular recreational spot of the Viennese, lovely to walk or swim or cycle on. A ten-minute walk will take you to the vast Prater Park and the oldest baroque park in Vienna, Augarten is two metro stops away. As far as Vienna itself goes, the city can indeed be a wonder. The 19th-century architecture makes the streets dreamlike, the traditional coffee houses in which one can spend pleasurable hours on end introduce a calm to daily routines and meetings with friends, the immense amount of culture ranging from exhibitions in the Albertina, MuseumsQuartier, the Belvedere Palace, to quality film screenings in cosy, beautiful cinemas and theatre plays satisfying needs from the world famous Viennese opera to contemporary dance performances. There are also, of course, the Schönbrunn palace and gardens, some of the world's most delicious cakes and meals, and, most of the time, the pure beauty of being here.
