Description
Our home is a Grade 2 listed 16th century cottage, located in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Mid Wales. It has many period features, such as oak beams and an original stone staircase. It is situated in the village of Llanbedr in the Black Mountains and is 5 minutes drive from the nearest small town of Crickhowell, where there are shops, a post office, restaurants and banks. The village has a pub which serves food.
The Cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, with many walks accessible from the door. Riding, canoeing, climbing, swimming, castles and other activities available locally. Situated close to river gorge, ideal for swimming/paddling in summer.
Easy drive from Cardiff/Bristol, where there are international airports and Abergavenny, where there is a railway station with connections to Cardiff and London.
Extra Info
We are a family of six, two adults and four children, aged 17, 14, 12 and 10. Dave is an environmental consultant and I run our bed and breakfast and self-catering business.
We are interested in a 2 to 3 week exchange to the Toronto area in Ontario Canada in July/August 2010.
Our Cottage is part of our home, which we offer as holiday accommodation. It comprises a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and galleried landing, leading down stone, spiral steps to a further room with double bed. This, in turn, leads through to the living/dining and kitchen area, in which there is a 3/4 sized sofa which can be converted into an additional bed, suitable for one person. There is also a downstairs toilet, conservatory and deck area with mountain views, and offroad parking on the driveway. Additionally, there are two other bedrooms (a double and a twin with bunkbeds)with their own bathroom, in a separate area of the house, if required.
