Combining modern Swiss architecture with local materials and bright retro furnishings, the apartment has exceptional views across the village of Bergün and up to the vast mountainscape of Piz Ela. Built in 2007, the apartment is very well insulated and has underfloor heating, fuelled by wood chip boiler. The apartment complex is on 2 floors with our apartment on the lower floor. The apartment is open plan with kitchen area, living space and separate bedroom (with kingsize bed) and bathroom. In the living space there is a sofa bed which sleeps 2 and is ideally suited to children. The living space also has a wood burning stove. There is a balcony/deck with outdoor furniture. The apartment is well equipped and, for babies/children there is a cot, high chair and potty!

About the location

Sur il God means "beside the forest" in Romansch (the local language in these high mountains). It is situated in Bergün/Bravuogn, an old farming village which combines organic agriculture with outdoor sports in both winter and summer. Bergün lies in the heart of Parc Ela - the largest natural park in Switzerland - which features stunning mountains and many traditional villages. In the winter, there is skiing in the village and within 45 minutes to 1 hour by car or train, ski resorts in St Moritz, Davos/Klosters, Lenzerheide, Bivio and Savognin can be reached. There is also a 5 km toboggan run from the village of Preda, down the Albula Pass to Bergün. In the summer, there is fabulous hiking all around and golfers will love the nearby Alvaneu Golf Club and Spa. The Italian lakes can be reached within 2 hours' drive. The nearest international airport is Zurich (2 hours by car or 3 hours by train). The train line which winds its way up the Albula Pass is world famous in railway engineering.
